Management and Production experience in IT and media.
Management Consultancy:
I have many
years of experience assisting companies with restructuring, management and
system’s research and consulting. I have vast experience in production of
budgets, proposals, business plans, marketing proposals and resource research.
Management
I have
extensive experience managing businesses in media and in IT. I was branch
manager of ICL for 3 years. As Managing Director of two production houses I was
responsible for managing teams, managing and implementing budgets, sales
strategy and financial management. I communicated across all levels of the
business, was responsible for staff and operations management. My job has always
involved finding and working with clients and ensuring good communications at
all times. It has always been my passion to ensure high service levels and
improve these where there were problems.
TV and Film:
I have
experience in making documentaries as a director, producer, production manager
and researcher. This includes fifteen years experience in the television and
media industry with practical production, operations and planning experience in
most areas of media. I have production experience in commercials as a production
manager for The Gatehouse. I have 6 years experience as production manager,
insert director and overall responsibilities for managing a production company
with Tswelopele Productions (producers of Top Billing). I have run and managed
two independent media production companies and I have experience as Assistant
Director on a feature film. I have also worked as Technical Director on animated
feature films. I have extensive experience initiating creative concepts for
projects, as well as assisting with scriptwriting.
Information Technology:
I have more
than 25 years of experience in system analysis and software development
including web design and information technology consultation. I am a specialist
in the preparation of reports, proposals and business analysis for corporations.
I have a strong background in user training and support documentation. I am
experience in web design, database development and in operating systems. My
current interest is open source systems, Linux, MySQL and cost effective and
robust alternatives to existing technology. I have extensive knowledge of
Internet, video, CD and DVD marketing technology and applications. I am
comfortable in delivering presentations and proposals (PowerPoint proficient)
and am totally versed in financial and business practice, methods and
methodology. I am an experienced web designer and work in HTML, Dreamweaver and
Joomla. I have lots of experience and interest in new media, social networking,
cloud computing and the latest trends in Internet developments and marketing.
High Performance Systems:
I have worked
with Sunrise Productions, both locally and overseas on a major research project
(which I led) on setting up and equipping an animation studio with high
performance systems, server and render farms, high performance graphic
workstations, high performance networking and large data storage arrays (between
50-100Tb). I set up a smaller animation studio as a pilot and working system. I
worked with major vendors, IBM, HP, Apple, Dell and major software vendors,
locally and overseas. My research extended into 3D and stereoscopic animation as
well.
