believe that challenges present us with opportunities for personal and
professional growth and development.
I am a highly driven person with great inter

: I have
completed a B.Tech: HRM degree and a National Diploma: HRM with the Cape
Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). I am currently registered for the
M.Tech degree (part-time), with CPUT. My research is about the management of
employee wellness programmes at different sectors of the economy, as I am
passionate about employee wellness, which consciously and inadvertently leads
to, among other things, less absenteeism, less disciplinary cases, and higher
production.
General administration: I have formal qualifications in this regard as
well as practical experience, which I gained over the years in administration
positions. My have excellent skills in this regard. These include office
administration, records management, electronic and paper filing, diary
management, arranging appointments and meetings, time management and many
other general office functions.
- Communication skills: I have good verbal and writing skills and can
communicate well in English and Afrikaans, as well as in Xhosa (home
language), Tswana (first language until Grade 10) and Sotho. This enables me
to get on well with people at all levels. My daily work also requires that I
have good communication skills.
- Conflict handling and stress management:
I have formal training in
this regard and have developed this skill over years of handling general
office conflict situations as well as mediating between union members and
employers.
- Planning, organizing, guiding and evaluating:
I acquired these skills
as a librarian and executive secretarial assistant.
- I understand and can interpret policy, a skill that I acquired
formally and in practice with the Department of Housing and Local Government.
- Confidentiality:
I am mature and can handle confidential information
and documents.

having acquired this skill through formal training and through practice
as a union representative and official as well as through daily practice in my
everyday work.
- Trade Unionism
: I have been an office bearer in a trade union (NEHAWU)
and have worked with unions as administrative assistant to management in my
current area of work. I therefore understand the dynamics involved in labour
relations and in management-labour union relationships.
- Leadership skills:
I have good leadership skills. I believe in myself
and have a clear sense of mission and focus, and have a passion to achieve. I
always take the initiative and can inspire a shared vision, with an ability to
inspire others.
- Punctuality
: I do not believe in the "African time" concept and hate
being late for anything. I believe that time management is a misnomer – the
challenge is not to manage time, but to manage ourselves.
